Natura 2000 project Floranet

Floranet Life Project proposes a series of actions aimed at protecting, exploiting and improving the status of plant species of Community importance (Annexes II-IV to Directive 92/43/EEC) that grow on Natura 2000 sites in three parks of the Central Apennines: Majella National Park, National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, Sirente-Velino Regional Park. Some of seven rare plant species included in this project are endemic and at risk of extinction: Lady’s slipper orchids (Cypripedium calceolus), Apennine pheasant’s eye (Adonis distorta), Mathilda’s Rock Jasmine (Androsace mathildae), Iris marsica, Astragalus aquilanus, Klasea lycopifolia, Jacobaea vulgaris subsp. gotlandica.
